UCEED & CEED QPattern (2025)

Both UCEED 2025 and CEED 2025 share similarities in their focus on visualization, practical knowledge, observation sensitivity, environmental awareness, analytical reasoning, language proficiency, and creativity in Part A. However, CEED includes additional topics related to art/design knowledge and design methods. In Part B, while both exams assess drawing skills, CEED places a stronger emphasis on creativity in problem-solving and communication skills.

UCEED (2025)

Exam Duration:    UCEED 

Part-A (Total marks: 200; Maximum time: 2 hours)

NAT (Numerical Answer Type): 14 questions (4 marks each; no negative marks) -  The answer is a number

MSQ (Multiple Select Question): 15 questions. Each MSQ may have one or morethan one correct choice(s)

MCQ (Multiple Choice Question): 28 questions (3 marks each for the correct answer;0.71 negative marks for incorrect answers)

Part-B (Total marks: 100; Maximum time: 1 hour)

UCEED & CEED Structure (2025)

Both UCEED and CEED consist of two parts, with a computer-based test for Part A and subjective evaluation for Part B. UCEED has a higher total mark allocation and longer duration for Part B compared to CEED. The marking schemes for NAT, MSQ, and MCQ sections are similar, but CEED has fewer questions in each section and slightly different negative marking criteria.

CEED (2025)

Exam Duration:    CEED 

Part-A (Total marks: 150; Maximum time: 1 hour)

NAT (Numerical Answer Type): 8 questions (4 marks each; no negative marks)

MSQ (Multiple Select Question): 10 questions. Each MSQ may have one or morethan one correct choice(s)

MCQ (Multiple Choice Question): 26 questions (3 marks each for the correct answer; 0.5 negative marks for an incorrect answer)

Part-B (Total marks: 100; Maximum time: 2 hours)

UCEED has a higher total mark allocation and longer duration for Part B compared to CEED. 

Exam Name:    UCEED 

UCEED Consists of two subjective drawing/ design aptitude questions (100 marks).

- Drawing: Ability to draw products, people, or scenes with good line quality, composition, proportion, perspective, and shading.
- Design aptitude: Capability to respond to problems with ingenuity and empathy.

Exam Name:    CEED 

CEED Consists of subjective drawing and problem identification questions (100 marks).

- Drawing: Ability to draw products, people, or scenes with good line quality, composition, proportion, perspective, and shading.
- Creativity: Ability to think out-of-the-box for unique solutions.
- Communication: Skills to communicate concepts clearly through text and visuals.
- Problem identification: Understanding user context and material properties.

DAT Prelims
Format:
The DAT Prelims consists of two parts: Objective (Part I) and Subjective (Part II). The total duration is three hours, with no negative marking for incorrect answers.

Content Areas: The exam evaluates candidates on various topics including:English, Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, Design Concepts, General Knowledge

DAT Mains
Format:
This stage includes a studio test where candidates must create sketches or models within a set timeframe, followed by a personal interview.

Skills Tested: Creativity, observation, and visualization skills are crucial for success in this stage.

Preparation Strategies,
Conceptual Understanding Foundational Knowledge: Focus on key design principles such as perspective, color theory, form, and composition. Familiarize yourself with the contributions of renowned designers and the history of design.
